ABOUT HWASA

Hwasa is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper and television personality.

2018–2019: Solo debut with "Twit" and solo career

After her first appearance on 'I Live Alone' variety show in June 2018, Hwasa has caused a sensation for gopchang (small intestine of pigs) all over South Korea. She has caused the delicacy to sell out across the country which earned her the titles "Gopchang Goddess" and "Hwasa Effect".

Hwasa made her debut as a solo artist with the digital single, 'TWIT' on 13th February 2019 which was considered one of the most successful solo debut. The song was on Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart for 6 weeks, peaking at #3. She participated in writing and composing the song and also successfully topped the Gaon Digital Chart in Korea. The song scored a "Triple Crown" (topping Gaon Digital, Gaon Download and Gaon Streaming charts).
